First Post!

Steffen and I have been inspired to start our own blog, in an attempt to make Michigan feel a little bit closer to all the important people in our lives.  It will be a new adventure and hopefully provide another reason to smile.  I'm one week and two days away from the start of my summer break and  am sure ready for some fun and relaxation!!  My schedule has already started to slow down and last night Steffen and I took the time to make refrigerator pickles from cucumbers grown in our community garden, just around the corner.  Check them out!  They are yummy.

Pickles!

  4. Check out backyardeats.blogspot.com - We are eating only food grown, raised or fished in Washington and Oregon during the month of August. It's been quite an experiment and it's only the 5th.

  5. Pickles look awesome! How do they taste?

Yes everyone, check out Backyardeats -- it is a fun read and inspiring....although I really don't think I'll be making my own peanut butter any time soon. Just buy the natural organic kind...
